Where is the key? Most cross stitch charts have them to tell you which specific thread to use for each colour.

for example, her black hair would probably be DMC 310/Anchor 401(not sure on the anchor conversion of the top of my head)

There's none because I don't use any. I have a big box with unlabeled threads and choose the colour by looking at it. Not very professional, I guess
